Kathmandu, 2nd February, 2015 Â : Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has said the country should not be always be allowed to be made a captive of political bickering and agitations.
Addressing the 69th anniversary function of the Bishwa Niketan Higher Secondary School, Tripureshwar here today, he said although the rest of the world has been marching forward on the path of prosperity due to the development of industries based on information, technology and knowledge and their skills, Nepal has always been passing through political transition.
The Finance Minister, who is also an alumnus of the school, said, “Now, we want to take the country towards prosperity by delivering a new constitution sooner and free the society from uprisings and general strikes.”
Although Nepalis have entrepreneurship skills, knowledge and creative faculties and the country is endowed with abundant natural resources, it lagged behind in the economic development front due to political instability, he rued.
He also urged the teachers to work hard for promoting creative education.
District Education Officer of Kathmandu District, Dr Balkrishna Ranjit said the government would provide the required cooperation to the school for infrastructure development.
Chief of the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) Kathmandu District office Janga Bahadur Aryal urged the teachers teaching in community schools to also admit their wards in the very school they are teaching to promote and improve the education at community schools.
Minister Mahat also handed over the Best Teacher and Best Student awards on the occasion.
