National Innovation Centre Received donation by Agriculture Scientist


Khotang: Mr. Madan Rai, a renowned Agriculture scientist has donated Rs. 50,000 to the National Innovation Centre (NIC) set up by Magsaysay award winner Mr. Mahabir Pun. A check was handed to Mahabir Pun on Thursday.

Pun established the NIC in 2012 with a vision to provide necessary assistance to youths with new ideas. National Innovation Centre is a center to promote entrepreneurship among youths and carry out research and development works. Established under the initiation of Mahabir Pun, the center aims to help capitalize entrepreneurial ideas of youths, work in research and development activities and contribute to the national economy. Likewise, the center also gives due priority to expanding internet services across the rural parts of Nepal.

On the occasion, Rai said he had made the contribution to support Pun’s remarkable initiative and he also said Modern man cannot prosper until and unless innovations happen through researches. And when the government does not work toward this end, the citizens themselves should support research and innovation.

Similarly, The Chairman of Joint Voice for Change, Mr. Bindra Raj Rai also donated Rs. 2,45,000, collected from 31 various donors to the center. NIC has been able to receive much help from various donors since its initiation. NIC is established for innovation and everyone needs to support their work and vision.
