Baglung, August 22, 2016: Social campaigner Dr Mahavir Pun is on a nationwide campaign for raising funds for establishment of National Invention Centre.
Pun, a Magsaysay award winner, was born in Nagi VDC of Myagdi and recently attended various programmes in Dhaulagiri. Pun said that he has come to people’s doorsteps with his concept and to draw suggestions and economic support.
At an interaction programme in Baglung, Pun said the centre was for the future generation.
“This centre will not give results now, it is a national resolve,†Pun said, adding “We are establishing it for our future generation.â€
Pun said more than Rs 7 million has been collected from national and foreign donors till date. He called the donation a ‘Grand Donation’ meant for the country’s interest rather than just support.
The social campaigner has called on the people to donate what they can. He complained that the government has neglected his demand for establishment of the centre. Pun plans to set up a hydro power project to draw proceeds for the centre.
