Kathmandu, June 12, 2016: Expensive advertisements published in almost all national dailies for the announcement of Naya Shakti party today has created vibration in the country.

Major national dailies have published ‘jacket ads’ of Naya Shakti, roughly translated as New Power, that appear as expensive as advertisements by multinational companies.

Publishing jacket ad in a daily generally costs from 100 thousand to 500 thousand rupees. The rate is fixed as per the daily’s standard.

TV ads, featuring Naya Shakti Coordinator Baburam Bhattarai, too have been airing for some time.

Bhattarai has claimed that Naya Shakti’s new advertisement campaign is cost-effective. He also said that he has started airing political advertisement in TV for the first time in the country. “Some may think that it is an expensive venture but we’ll make all financial details public”, he told journalists in an informal meet.

Former Chief Commissioner of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority Suryanath Upadhyaya commented that Naya Shakti appears to have huge treasury.

Bhattarai has claimed that his party will stand first in the next polls.
