Kathmandu,31 Dec 2014: The major ruling party— the Nepali Congress – has decided to promulgate the new constitution even going for the voting process.
A meeting of the NC office-bearers held at the official residence of the Prime Minister this morning, decided to suggest Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairman, Subas Nembang, to suspend provisions mentioned in the CA regulations to bring the new constitution on coming January 22.
Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel said that the meeting drew the conclusion to give suggestion to the CA Chairman at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee, scheduled for today, to shorten the regulations process to promulgate the new constitution on the stipulated time by keeping the initiatives for consensus intact.
The NC made this decision at a time when the UCPN (Maoist) has already declared its protest programme.
