Kathmandu, December 17, 2017: Team Nepal clinched the title of First International Wheel Chair T-20 cricket series after defeating Bangladesh by 54 runs in the final. The tri-series was played between Nepal, India and Bangladesh.
In a final game held at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Nepal presented Bangladesh with the target of 161 runs. The chasing side managed to score only 106 runs before getting all-out within 18 overs. Bipin Poudel took three wickets to register an easy win for the home sides. Morsed Alham and Ujwal Bairagi from Bangladesh managed to score 20 and 17 runs respectively.
Earlier in the match, Nepali batsman Digam Chemjong and Nabin Rai took the lead of Nepali inning as both of them managed to score a half-century. Chemjong scored 79 runs whereas Rai added 51 runs to his tally.
Nepal and Bangladesh both defeated India prior to book their seats for final. The tournament was organized by Nepal Wheel Chair Cricket Association which has been working to promote the differently able cricketer by providing the national and international platforms.
The victorious Nepali team received medals and trophy. Digam Chemjong was nominated as the best player of the tournament while Nabin Rai was acknowledged as best batsman. Similarly, Bipin Poudel and Raju Gurung were recognized best bowler and wicketkeeper of the tournament respectively
