Nepal Celebrated the International Civil Aviation Day


Kathmandu, December 8, 2018: The International Civil Aviation Day was celebrated on December 7, 2018 in Nepal through organizing different events. To mark the day, a morning procession was held by Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

A rally was started from Sinamangal and concluded upon reaching the TIA area which was joined by Rabindra Adhikari, the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Krishna Prasad Devkota, tourism secretary, along with CAAN officials and employees, ministry representatives, representatives from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and Nepal Airlines Corporation, and tourism entrepreneurs. 

Likewise, to symbolize the special day, Minister Adhikari raised the National Flag and flag of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) on TIA terminal premises. He also addressed the need of uniformity in civil aviation criteria globally and advised the concerned employees to work with dedication and be proactive for skill enhancement.

Each year, December 7 is celebrated as the International Civil Aviation Day. The day was established in 1994 marking the 50th anniversary of signing the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
