Kathmandu, July 17, 2016:Â Nepal national cricket team defeated Club Cricket Conference (CCC) by four wickets on Friday to extend their unbeaten run on their preparation tour of England.
Put into bowl by the CCC, Nepal managed to restrict their opponents for 226 runs taking seven wickets at the end of the accumulated 50 overs. Sompal Kami led the charge and claimedÂ two wickets giving away 36 runs in his 10 over spell.
Sandeep Lamichhane proved his prodigy by producing another fine effort with the ball as he sent two Conference batsmen packing. Lamichhane gave away 36 runs with two maidens to his name during his 10 over spell. Meanwhile, skipper Paras Khadka and Karan KC shared a wicket each to their name.
Chasing 227 runs for victory, Nepal had to dig deep until the 46thÂ over to outscore their opponents.
Anil Mandal and Gyanendra Malla started the innings in a fine style by putting 60-run stand for the first wicket before Malla was dismissed for 36 runs. His inning included three fours and a six.
Sagar Pun was out cheaply before skipper Khadka joined the crease. Khadka then orchestrated the chase with a crafty 67 off 66 balls. Sharad Vesawkar, Rajesh Pulami and Raju Rijal all played their part to steer Nepal to a four-wicket victory in the 46thÂ over.
The victory has left Nepal undefeated in all of their matches in the course of their England tour and in a good momentum in their run-up to the World Cricket League Championship matches against the Netherlands scheduled for next month.
Earlier, Nepal had annihilated the Free Foresters Cricket Club in their first practice match by a mammoth 129 runs before defeating the Indian Gymkhana Cricket Club by 20 runs in their second practice match.
Nepal are scheduled to play a friendly match against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), which is expected to be a historic moment for the team, at the Lordâ€™s, the home of cricket, on July 19.
