Kathmandu, Feb 16: Nepal has been elected to the Governing Board of Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for the first time. Forty-six countries of Asia are the members of the Institute.
According to the Office of the Comptroller General, the 13th General Assembly of the organisation concluded on February 13 at Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia elected Nepal to the Board member of the Institute for three years.
Organising a news conference on Sunday, Auditor General Bhanu Prasad Acharya said that it was the matter of glory for the nation to be elected to the post for the first time.
Nepal, who is the founder member of the organisation, has won the election after 36 years.
