Nepal HipHop Foundation set to host ‘Kathmandu B-Boy City’ on August 26


Registration opens for Solo/Crew B-Boys and All Stylers

Kathmandu, August 14, 2017: Nepal HipHop Foundation (NHF), is all set to host Kathmandu B-boy City 2017 this August 26. This championship is a qualification round for ‘Taipei B-Boy City World Final 2017’-an international level world championship targeting youths in their teens to thirties who are passionate about B-boy.

The preliminary round being held on August 26 at Table Tennis Hall, Lainchour, Kathmandu will see participants from Nepal, India and Bhutan.

On this round, dance crews and solo break-dance artists will compete and one solo break-dancer will proceed to the semi final round in Taipei and the winner in Taipei further proceeds to compete for the ‘Undisputed World B-Boy Series Championship’ to be held in California this year. The contestants will be selected through battles and performances by skilled b-boys from 3 countries: Nepal, India and Bhutan.

The prelims will feature three categories: Undisputed B-Boy 1 VS 1, Crew Battle (8-10 members), and All Style Battle 1 VS 1. The winner of ‘Undisputed B-Boy 1 VS 1’ will be qualified for ‘Taipei B-Boy City World Final 2017’ and the winners of both ‘All Style Battle’ and ‘Crew Battle’ will be awarded ‘Kathmandu B-Boy City Trophy’ with some cash prizes.

“We, at Nepal Hip Hop Foundation, believe that everyone can learn and teach, with the capacity to play a positive role and spread their influence as role models, to others and lead their own communities bringing positive changes through hip hop and dance. This is an initiation to address social issues and youths’ involvement in these issues through hip hop culture,” shared Deepesh Thapa, Founder at Nepal Hip hop Foundation.

The registration for Kathmandu B-Boy City 2017 has already started and extends up to 20th August, 2017. For registration, participants outside the Kathmandu Valley can contact the NHF Facebook page and participants from Kathmandu should visit the NHF Office in Thamel.
