Nepal police club wins Pokhara football tournament in 'Sudden Death'

Pokhara, 17th January, 2015 :  Nepal Police Club has won the Manokamana Cable Car Pokhara Club Football Tournament in ‘sudden death’ at the Pokhara Stadium on Saturday.

 

The final match played between Nepal Police Club and Three Star Club ended in a 1-1 draw in the regular time plus extra time of 30 minutes, leading to a tie-breaker. However, the two teams were tied at 3-3 even in the tie-breaker. And thus, the winner had to be decided in the sudden death.

 

The victorious team NPC took home Rs 355,000 in cash prize and a trophy while the runner up won Rs 201,000 and a trophy.

 

The tournament which started on January 6 saw the participation of a total of 12 teams from Nepal’s A Division League, Foreign teams and local teams.

 

The tournament was organized by Kaski District Football Association and Manokamana Darshan Private Limited.
