Kathmandu, Sept 24: Employees have today vandalized the central office of the Nepal Telecom.

A clash took place between two groups of employees after the staff in the administration group today protested against the agitation launched by the engineering group. The engineering group is on protest against the appointment of non-engineer employee to the post of Managing Director of the Telecom.

Some employees of the two groups were injured in the incident, it is learnt.
The agitating employees smashed five windowpanes in front of the office of the Managing Director and broke chairs and flower vessels.

Engineers at Nepal Telecom have been staging a relay hunger strike in front of the office of MD Buddhi Prasad Acharya for the past 15 days citing Acharya of the administration group was appointed to the post of Managing Director of the Telecom.

The clash took place after the administration group today launched agitation against the engineering group, citing the operation of Telecom’s Dashain Scheme was disrupted due to the protest by the engineering group.
