Nepal to announce Visit Nepal Year 2020 from British Parliament


KATHMANDU: Nepal is going to promote for the advertisement of Visit Nepal Year 2020 from the British Parliament.

Mr.Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, Honorable Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has reached UK in this connection and plans he will make an announcement about the Visit Year from the British House of Lords (Upper House). The programme is going to held on coming November 7, the Visit Year Secretariat stated.

On the occasion of annual World Travel Market (WTM) for the promotion of Visit Nepal Year 2020 is planning to take place at the British Upper House. Nepalese Ambassador to United Kingdom Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi welcomed Minister Bhattarai in London. Nepali cuisine along with other promotional items will be exhibited in the three-day event.

The Goodwill Ambassadors for Visit Nepal Year 2020 are appointed amidst a function at British Parliament. The ambassadors are- Joanna Lumley, British noted actress, author and activist; British politician Mr. Sandeep Kumar Verma of Indian origin and the Indian- born British successful businessman Mr. Gopichand Paramanand Hinduja. The British tour operators that have been sending highest number of tourists to Nepal for a long time will be awarded by Minister Bhattarai on the occasion.

Mr. Ramesh Arora, hotel entrepreneur will be honoured with the “The Himalayan Award” for promoting Nepal’s tourism with their respective professions such as Marcus Cotton, Robin Marston and Colonel Jimmy Roberts.
