Nepali Congress committed on youth issues, says Poudel

Kathmandu, April 21, 2017: Senior leader of Nepali Congress, Ram Chandra Poudel has expressed commitment that his party will be promoting youth leadership in the upcoming local level elections.

Receiving memorandum from the YOUthVoteNepal campaign, a joint initiative of various youth organizations launched to promote youths’ concerns in elections, the senior leader of the party as well as coordinator of the central coordination committee for local level election, Poudel shared that his party will play a role in promoting youth leadership in the election.

Along with this, he also expressed a commitment that his party would abstain from using children as well as schools during the electioneering.

“Nepali Congress is very sensitive to the issues of youth, and will play an utmost role for the same,” he shared on the occasion.

The YOUthVoteNepal campaign was collectively launched by 13 various youth organizations to carry out advocacy on youths’ agendas during the upcoming local elections. Youth organizations from as many as 30 districts are constituents of the campaign; including Yuwalaya, Achel Natya Samuha, Glocal Khabar, Saathi Sanga Manka Kura radio programme, We for Change, Yuwa, YAV Nepal, Sirjansil Samaj Nepal, Youth Initiative, Active Youth Society, Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal and Dynamic Youth Forum.

The campaigners will continue lobbying with other political parties and stakeholders to raise their agendas.
