Nepali Judokas bag four gold medals for the country

Kathmandu, February 28, 2018: Nepali Judokas have won four gold medals and a bronze in the BKSP Cup Judo Tournament in Bangladesh on February 27, 2018.

Manita Shrestha Pradhan the 12th South Asian Games silver medalist defeated Bangladesh’s Arifa Aktar in the women’s below 57kg final to win the gold medal. Similarly, Roshan Bahadur Singh claimed men’s 60kg weight category gold beating India’s Arbindo Ghosh. Indra Bahadur Shrestha, 12th SA Games bronze medal winner defeated Bangladesh’s Kayas Ahmed in the men’s 66kg section final. Meanwhile, Suman Shrestha won the gold medal in men’s below-73kg section beating Akib HaiderImon of Bangladesh.

Nirmala Gharti claimed bronze in women’s below-63kg weight category. Out of the 11 Nepali players participating in the tournament, six judokas are scheduled to compete today.

These three judokas are from Prisoners’ Assistance Mission, whereas Manita Shrestha Pradhan plays domestic tournaments from Tribhuvan Army Club.
