Nepalis from Australia aid to intellectual disability class

Babiyachaur (Myagdi), 28 Oct 2014: The Intellectual Disability Resource Class operated in Beni municipality-11, Baguwakhola of Myagdi received aid of Rs 150,000 from Nepalis residing in Australia.

The generous Nepali nationals in Australia provided financial support to the resource class operated by Baljagriti Primary School with a view to bringing people with intellectual disability to the reach of education and helping in their socialization.

The total assistance including Rs 50,000 from Lions Club of Australia and Rs 100,000 from Myagdi Service Committee Australia was received, said School’s Headmaster Bhakta Karki.

The school on Monday felicitated Suman Baniya, a local of Beni municipality-6 and is currently living in Australia, for his effort to collect assistance for the resource class.Some 21 people with intellectual disability from Myagdi and Baglung are being taught in the resource class which has been in operation since 2069 BS.
