Kathmandu, February 14, 2019: After defeating India, Nepal managed to win over Iran by 3-0 in the fray for Hero women’s Gold Cup that took place at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar.
Subsequently, wining over Iran, Nepal scored 6 points which means they will be playing another match with Myanmar.
Nepal’s Midfielder, Anita Basnet scored a very stunning goal in the 41 minutes of the first half. In the second half striker, Sabitra Bhandari scored 2 goals to give an unaccessible lead over Iran to seal an empathic victory.
After the restart, Nepal’s pressing game paid off dividend as Bhandari beat the offside trap to score a simple tap in an unguarded net.
In the early match, Nepal had lost to Myanmar by 3-0 before defeating the host 2-1 in a crucial encounter.
