Bhairahawa, March 18, 2016: The first National Agri-Quiz–2072 was held between different colleges with Agriculture faculty at Bhairahawa, Rupandehi on March 16, 2016. It was organized by Technical Student’s Association of Nepal (TSAN) and Paklihawa Campus Committee in collaboration with IAAS and District Agriculture Development office, Rupandehi (DADO).

The program was inaugurated with the valuable presence of chief guest Mr. Bhojraj Sapkota, Senior Agriculture Development Officer at District Agriculture Development Office, Rupandehi. The other guests for the event were Mr. Janma jaya Gairhe, Assistant Campus Chief, IAAS Paklihawa Campus, Mr. Subodh Khanal, Mrs. Huma Neupane and Mr. Ram Kumar Shrestha.

The main aim of program was to encourage students to gain information about agriculture beyond their course of studies at their respective colleges. The program not only enriched the participants’ agricultural knowledge but also helped them to interact among the agricultural students nationwide for working together in future for agricultural revolution.

The program coordinator Mr. Deepak Ghimire stated that a total of 10 teams participated representing different colleges of agriculture across the country which included:

1) Agriculture and forestry university, Central Campus, Rampur Chitwan [4 Teams]

2) Agriculture and Animal university, Paklihawa Campus, Bhairahawa Rupandehi [2 Teams]

3) Prithu Technical College, Dang [1 Team]

4) Nepal Politechnic Institute, Chitwan [2 Team]

5) Himalaya College of Agriculture Science and Technology (HICAST), Kalanki Kathmandu [1Team

The one day long quiz competition concluded after distribution of certificates and trophies along with a motivational speech by the honorable Chief guest. The winner was Rampur Maize Group from AFU. The second position was scored by Rampur Litchi Group from AFU and third position was scored by Virus Group form IAAS, Rupandehi.”
