Kathmandu, August 30, 2017: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) recently participated in the Asia Roadshow 2017 held in five prominent cities of Germany — Hamburg, Essen, Mannheim, Wurzburg and Dresden from 21-25 August, 2017.

This is the first initiative of Nepal Tourism Board to partner with an international tour operator for destination promotion. Nepal had an exclusive presentation session in all the events along with 5 other top destinations in Asia. The other destinations included China, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore. Bangkok Airways, Singapore Airlines, Belmond Resorts-Bali, Hilton Hotel, Mulia hotels-Bali, Elephant Hills-Phuket and Interpid were individual tourism properties who were also a part of the Asia Roadshow.

Every event witnessed the participation of more than 80 agents where the exhibitors could do a serious Business to Business session with the potential buyers. A focused presentation session followed the B2B with FTI representative doing a detailed interview with the Destination Presenter regarding the destination.

Nepal also had a competitive benefit of products among other Seller Destinations as it had completely different products than what they all were selling. The Dhaka Scarfs distributed were absolutely loved by all.

Ram Pratap Thapa, Honorary Consul General of Nepal in Germany, and NTB Managers Lekh Nath Bhusal and Shradha Shrestha, and Santosh Bhattarai-Honorary PRR of NTB in Germany represented Nepal in the event.

NTB CEO Deepak Raj Joshi remarked that this initiative was pivotal to directly reach international tour operators. “The NTB will partner with all agencies and associations to bring desired number of tourists from source market by creating awareness about Nepal. This type of program strongly supplements Nepal’s participation in trade fairs and will be done regularly in the days to come,” he said.

The Asia Roadshow is an annual event organized by FTI Touristik Germany which is the 4th largest Tour Operator in Germany with having more than 2200 agents over Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
