Kathmandu, May 16, 2016: A strong crowd of over 5,000 sang along and danced as Nepathya took to the stage at Jawalakhel ground, as part of the ‘Coca-Cola Pheri Uthne Chha Nepal’ (Nepal will rise again) campaign.

The Nepal’s much loved folk-rock band kept a strong hold on audience with about 18 of their hits—songs and musicals, old and new—during the two-hour long charity concert. Nepathya frontman Amrit Gurung also took time in between performances to relay his message of peace and unity while the audiences continued to cheer. “Desh banaune sankalpa garaun; Hamile aafno kaam aafai garnu parchha,” (Let’s vow to rebuild our country; we should do that ourselves), he addressed the audience referring to the much needed reconstruction work post last year’s earthquake.

Bipin Gurung, who recently took the SLC exams, looked overwhelmed to see Nepathya live in concert. “Nepathya is a legendary band and I love all their songs. I’ve always watched their performances in television and YouTube, so watching them live was a totally amazing experience,” he shared.

Musician Gurung also took a moment to thank all his fans, the love and support of whom have “kept us going for all these 23 years.”

The concert ended with the band’s hit patriotic number ‘Rato ra Chandra Surya’ which left the audience cheering for more.

The concert was organized as part of the ‘Coca-Cola Pheri Uthne Chha Nepal’ campaign started in August, 2015. According to the organizers, the proceeds from the concert will be donated to NGOs such as Child Protection Nepal, Work for a Cause Nepal, Sano Paila, WILL, Aishworya Children Home, and Raise of Hope Nepal.
