Kathmandu, Aug 30: Deputy Prime Minister and Nepali Congress General Secretary Prakashman Singh has said that the new constitution should be promulgated in time based on consensus among the political parties. Inaugurating the 11th general convention of Nepal Student’s Union Kathmandu District Committee here today, Singh said that new constitution should be promulgated in time based on political consensus to safeguard the achievements of the people’s struggles. He also said that the disputed issues of the constitution should be discussed seriously and added that the Nepali Congress was ready to perform the role of facilitator to forge consensus and coordination among the parties. Singh urged the Union leadership to move ahead to organize its general convention on slated date and make the organization further stronger. Likewise, Nepali Congress central committee member Nabindraraj Joshi said that the disputes seen in the Union should be resolved through mutual discussions. On the occasion, lawmaker and NSU chairman Ranjit Karna and other speakers pledged to strengthen the organization. RSS
