Dhangadhi, 1 April, 2015 : Senior leader of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that talks with the opposition parties and constitution writing process would now move ahead simultaneously.
At a news conference organised by the Nepal Press Union here today, senior leader Deuba expressed determination that the new constitution would be promulgated through majority process if consensus bids fails, saying initiatives to forge consensus would continue through talks with opposition parties for the same.
Stating that the constitution writing process would not be stopped at any cost due to opposition parties’ agitation, he blamed the UCPN (Maoist) for its involvement in different activities to obstruct the constituent assembly.
The NC senior leader recalled that that top leader of major political parties have already agreed not to split Kailali and Kanchapur districts in course of carving out federal units. He also expressed the view that the far-western region should be made a single province even with special reservation to backward communities.
