Kathmandu, Aug. 27: Nepali Congress Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel has said that concluding the constitution drafting process would be a true tribute to late Girija Prasad Koirala.
Speaking at an interaction on ‘democratic constitution and girijababu’ organized by the GP Koirala Study Centre here today, he said GP Koirala played a supreme role in the establishment of republic in Nepal.
 Likewise, UCPN (Maoist) senior leader and former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai described the late GP Koirala as a leader who worked in the interest of the nation by rising above his party.GP’s role was significant in bringing together opposing forces in a very critical juncture of the country, he added.
Co-chair of Sadbhawana Party Laxman Lal Karna emphasized on the need to follow the farsightedness of GP Koirala to take everyone together ahead.Chief of NC Organization Department Ananda Prasad Dhungana, NC Kathmandu Chair Bhimsendas Pradhan and other speakers stressed on the need to conclude the constitution drafting process and take the country towards the path to national progress to realize the dreams of the late GP Koirala.
At the programme, a compilation of essays titled ‘Girijababu from Rana regime to Republic’ was released.
