13 Help Desks in Valley For Passengers

Kathmandu, September 27, 2018: Since Dashain and Tihar is approaching, the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) has set up 13 help desks in the different parts of Kathmandu Valley to assist the passengers and check the black marketing of tickets by the transport operators.The help desks are situated at Kalanki, Swayambhu, Naya Buspark, Satdobato, Gaushala, Chabahil, Balkhu, Dakshinkali, Koteshwor, Sundhara, Baneshwor, Old Bus Park, Nagdhunga and Jagati.

Transport Management officials, transport entrepreneurs Association representatives, representatives from the civic societies, traffic police and civil police are appointed in these help desks. There is an estimation of around 2.5 million leaving the Valley for Dashain celebration by MTPD. During the festive season, the passengers usually complain against the travel agents charging high prices on tickets.

Hence, MTPD Chief and Senior Superintendent of Police Basanta Kumar Panta mentioned that the passengers can contact the nearest help desk to seek action against ill-treatments, harassment and arbitrary fees.
