Kathmandu, Feb 28: The 30-party alliance led by the major opposition UCPN (Maoist) has begun rallies from different parts of the capital city today.
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has led the rally at Kamalpokhari, while senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai at Kalimati and Vice-Chairman Narayankaji Shrestha at Koteshwor.
Similarly, top leaders of the Madhes-centric parties have led the rallies at Babarmahal.
The rallies are also emanated from Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.
The rallies would merge at Khulamanch before a programme, which would be addressed by the top leaders of the alliance.
Vehicular Movement Disrupted
With the rallies begun from various places of the capital city, the vehicular movement and the people’s mobility have been affected.
The Metropolitan Traffic Division has said traffic police have been mobilized in different parts of the capital city in view of the traffic disruption.
Due to the pressures from the rallies, few vehicles are operative, added the Division.
