William Arquero, coast guard spokesman said that  it was unclear if more might be missing because they have no way of checking.He also said the unregistered ship had left for nearby Tapul island from jolo without  any inspection and clearance from authorities .He added 14 survivors were rescued and brought to hospital by three passing boats where as rest of the survivors were taken to tapul.
Military spokesman Lt. Col. Harold Cabunoc said that a Navy boat was sent to the area to help, five passengers who were found to be dead.Arquero, also said that there were no any strong winds warnings in the area,and since it was overloaded it was likely the boat was not able to tolerate the waves.
As per the source, the boat was carrying 100 bags of cement and various freights.And on thursday morning the boat had left jolo towards tapu while just in an hour it turned over.The coast guard came to know about the incident on evening.
