Community-Police Partnership Program Launched by Nepal Police

Kathmandu, October 31, 2018: Nepal Police launched Community- Police Partnership program targeting to create a peaceful and secure society all over Nepal.

The inauguration of the program was done in all seven provinces at the same time and in capital it was done by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa. He shared, ” The government’s goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal – Happy Nepalis’ could be achieved only after controlling crime. It is now time to organise awareness programmes in each ward of the local levels and youths have to act like police without a uniform to make the programme successful.”

Sarbendra Khanal, IGP added, “The program will initially be coordinated from the local level for successful implementation. The programme will mainly focus on community security issues.”

According to Khanal, Nepal police signed a memorandum of understanding with 166 local bodies. There will be a total of 753 local bodies. Bidya Sundar Shakya, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis shared the excitement of working with Nepal police for minimizing crime in the city and creating a peaceful city.
