Bhadrapur, 12th February, 2015 :   The Eastern Division office for Irrigation has tightened the noose around the contractor companies who have fled without completing their assignments.

The Division Office has fined Pushpanjali Construction Private Limited, Ghattekulo, Kathmandu and Surya and Sons Puspanjai JB Rs 2,983,500 for failing to complete a contract. Pushpanjali Construction Pvt Ltd was to build an irrigation project in the Mawa River of Jhapa for Rs 11,845,797 but fled leaving the work incomplete.     Similarly, Surya and Sons Pushpanjali JB had received the contract to carry out a similar task at Sadhutar, Nete in Khudunabari, Jhapa for Rs. 14,488,484.

 

The contractors had received the contract to complete the projects two years ago and were supposed to finish them by the end of 2013.

 

Kunjanbhakta Shrestha , the Division Engineer at Eastern Division office for Irrigation, said the contractor companies were fined after being asked to return the advance money given at the outset of the contract. RSS
