Parasi (Nawalparasi), 10 March, 2015 :Â Nepali Congress Vice-president Ramchandra Poudel has said that the country was looking for an outlet from the political deadlock and people were pining for development. However, these things were not achieved due to the obstruction by the opposition alliance, he alleged.
Talking to party cadres at Gaidakot in the district, leader Poudel said the government was holding dialogue in different phases with the opposition alliance for the consensus and it would produce results within some days.
Terming the past agreements held in different phases with different parties, he added that even the former king was reiterating for the enforcement of past agreement. How could all the past agreements be addressed, Poudel questioned.
He further said that the constitution drafting was the job of the constituent assembly and it should draft a new constitution on the basis of national interest. Leader Poudel added that waiting for meaningless consensus was totally futile.
The disputed issues should be resolved through the right process, even the United Nations uses veto power to resolve the disputed issues, Poudel argued. He said he telephoned UCPN (Maoist) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal this morning and asked him not to take any decision that would incite people’s sentiments in the meeting of the opposition alliance scheduled for today.
