Rantnanagar (Chitwan), Jan 28: A daughter here got her mom arrested, filing a case against her for constantly torturing her.
Sangita Lama, 21, from Jutpani-7 of the district today filed a complaint against her mother Dhanamaya Tamang at the District Police Office, Chitwan charging her for continuously harassing her in the pretext of marrying a man belonging to a lower caste some four years ago.
According to the victim Lama, she resorted to the police unable to bear the injury inflicted by the thrashing of the mother, sister and a village woman lately on Monday evening.
The victim, tortured time and again for marrying Manoj Pariyar from Jutpani-7 of the district, is currently receiving treatment at Bharatpur Medical College in Chitwan.
Police today arrested the culprit following the complaint and are preparing to take necessary legal action against her, shared Sahakul Bahadur Thapa, the Chief of Police at Chitwan Police Office.
