Kathmandu, March 2: The Senior Citizens’ Conference has been organized recently at Udayapur of Rajasthan, India.
A 15-member Nepali team led by Chairman of the National Senior Citizens’ Federation, Dr Gaurishankar Lal Das, participated in the conference hosted by the Maharana Pratap Varista Nagrik Sanstahn for the fourteenth time.
The conference with the theme of ‘Holistic Living of Senior Citizens: Challenges and Way Out’ discussed extensively on the condition of the senior citizens and their rights in the global context.
The Nepali team leader briefed the conference on situation of Nepali senior citizens.
Similarly, General Secretary of the Federation, Chhatra Bahadur Pradhan, demanded the establishment of the senior citizens’ forum at the SAARC for broader voice for the rights and welfare of the elderly people.
As many as 2,000 senior people from the SAARC nations participated in the conference.
