Kathmandu, September 25, 2018: For the first time, Thamel street festival is to be held from September 27, 2018 marking 30th World Tourism Day.
Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Cultural Aviation in association with Thamel Tourism Development Council is organizing the event in one of the major tourist hub of Kathmandu, Thamel.
The President of Council, Samir Gurung stated in the press conference that this street festival is aimed to promote Thamel which has been the center of tourist industry for more than four decades.
“The festival is believed to support the government’s Visit Nepal 2020 campaign which aims to attract more than 2 million tourists.”, added Gurung.
The event is planned to be opened at 4 pm from Tridevi Marga in Thamel with several cultural events.
