Kathmandu,18 Nov 2014: Home stay services have been found catching up in Kirtipur area with the flow of domestic and foreign tourists to the ancient town to the south of downtown Kathmandu.
Tourist Information Centre, Kirtipur has implemented measures to promote the home stay services in the area, said Birendra Shakya secretary at the centre.
He further said that the centre was brought into operation last year aiming to publicize the religious and cultural sites in the areas and it has been found effective these days.
Most of the foreign visitors to the town are from France and Germany and the number of foreign tourists visiting is about 100 per day, Shakya said.
Kirtipur area has many different historical and cultural sites that are of interest to the tourists.
Champa Devi Temple, Taudaha, Baghbhairav, Uma Maheshwor, Indrayani, Chilancho Monastery, Shakyamuni Buddha Temple and Lokeshwor Temple are the important heritages of the areas.
The centre has provided necessary information to the visitors so that each visitor could be fully informed about the heritages, Shakya added.
