Kathmandu, Dec 8: Minister for Health Khagraj Adhikari has said that mental sickness was not a crime.
While speaking in an interaction programme on “Violence and Mental Health, a hidden risk in Nepali Community’ here in the capital today, Minister Adhikari said that such sickness could be found even in respected people in the society. Therefore, social awareness was needed to reduce such problem, he added.
Similarly, lawmaker Rabindra Adhikari said the bill relating to violence against women was approved by the parliament and it should be implemented by the government.
On the occasion, Executive Director of Kopila Nepal Bina Silwal, Psychiatrist Dr Shishir Subba expressed their views on the theme of the programme. Kopila Nepal is a social organization running different awareness campaign on women and children’s issues.
