Kathmandu, Nov 23: The Government of India has officially communicated to the Government of Nepal that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel only to Kathmandu to attend the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit and would not visit other places of Nepal this time due to unavoidable domestic commitments and prescheduled travels within the country.

The government had made all arrangements to receive and welcome Modi to Janakpur, Lumbini and Muktinath, as desired by Indian Prime Minister earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release today.

The Spokesperson of India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated that the Prime Minister of India deeply values the relationship between India and Nepal and will always welcome every occasion to visit Nepal and interact with the leadership and the people of Nepal; and that the Prime Minister of India looks forward to an early opportunity to visit Janakpur, Lumbini, Muktinath and other places of Nepal, the press release stated.
