Kathmandu, March 3, 2018: Dr. Basudev Tripathi, veteran writer, and analyst has been bestowed upon with this year’s ‘National Kalashree Felicitation’ for his contributions to Nepali literature, culture, and language. The award is given every year by Nepali Kalasahitya Dot Com Pratishthan.
Maya Thakuri has been awarded National Kalashree Award and Nrs 100,000 for her immense contribution to Nepali literature. ‘Sasidhi National Kalashree Yuva Puraskar’, established by writer Momila Joshi and Ishwor Joshi to commemorate their parents, has been presented to journalist Mani Lohani. ‘Badri National Kalashree Journalism Award’ was given to journalist and poet Mohan Duwal. Lohani and Duwal were presented with a cash prize of Rs, 50,000, and 25,000 respectively.
Satyamohan Joshi, veteran cultural expert praised the work of the Pratisthan and indicated the ardent need of such initiatives to be taken by the government. He accoladed the work of the organizers and encouraged them to continue their initiation of translations.
A short documentary was presented on the works and life of Dr. Tripathi. Mahes Poudel, who presented the commemorated life of the awardees, mentioned Dr. Tripathi’s conduciveness to Nepali literature was ‘unfathomable’.
Nepali Kalasahitya Dot Com Pratishthan enhances the overall evolution of art, literature, culture, philosophy within the nation and beyond its horizon by the implementation of research technological observation and overview for the literary upliftment.
