Nepal grabbed an Excellence award in Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities

Kathmandu, November 12, 2018: A group of four youths with disabilities representing Nepal in the ‘Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities’ has successfully bagged the Excellence Award in E content challenge. They were awarded with medals and cash prize along with great recognition. The challenge took place from 8th to 11th November, 2018 in New Delhi where 300 participants including 120 Youth with Disabilities of 23 countries from the Asia Pacific had participated.

The team was led by Ms. Surakshya Dhungana, Secretary of YUWA who initiated training programs for the team through YUWA. Her initiation was a part of her action plan which was conducted by AIESEC Nepal in a program called Youth Speak Forum where she had won the third prize with the idea ‘ICT for Disabled Students’.

Sagun Raj Lage provided the training on PowerPoint, Web Browsing and Movie Making, Asim Dahal gave the Scratch training whereas Ms. Rashana Shrestha, Treasurer of YUWA facilitated the training on Excel.
