Biratnagar, 29 March, 2015 : Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize 2014 and Indian rights activist Kailash Satyarthi, arrived here today to participate in a programme

Speaking at a programme organized by Balkanya Viddya Mandir, a school at Biratnagar, Satyarthi said the biggest murder in the society is nothing than the murder of childhood.

Satyarthi, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for his struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of children to education, said, “The right to education, play, see golden dream for one’s future, and get parents love are the fundamental rights of the children. Preventing them from enjoying such rights is to murder their childhood.”

He urged all not to use children in labour and stressed on providing the children with education to end untouchability, caste-based discrimination, religious dispute and poverty. The parents should listen, talk, and understand the problems for any child’s development.
Earlier to this, the school honoured him by offering a shawl and letter of appreciation. Three girls reading at the school feted him amid a function.
