Solukhumbhu, Feb 15: Heavy snowfall has affected normal life in Solukhumbhu district headquarters, Salleri, and the Khumbu region since the past few days.
The high hills around the district headquarters have been covered with snow with very few people coming out of their homes due to chilling cold.
Salleri continues to receive light snowfall while the upper hills including Khumbhu and Beni, Taksindu, Ratnange, Pattale, and other areas are covered with thick snow.
Traffic has been disrupted after the roads at Pattale were covered with snow, said the transport entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, with the sudden fall in mercury, the number of patients suffering from cold-related diseases has increased. Children and the senior citizens are mostly affected by the cold related diseases such as fever, common cold, typhoid, and pneumonia, according to health workers.
