Plan International Nepal targets to help one million girls in next five years

Kathmandu,  May 2, 2018: Plan International Nepal has target to help one million girls over the next five years to proper education and tackle contemporary issues.

In a press statement issued on the occasion of its 40 years in Nepal, mentioned that they are launching its five year strategy that will include different programmes focusing on bringing positives changes in the lives of the girls.

“We will continue our efforts at all levels – from community, municipality, provincial to national level – and bring actors together to promote girls’ rights, to bring about changes that will result in equality for girls through programmes that contribute to the priorities set by the government of Nepal and needs identified by girls and boys themselves within the communities they live in,” said the organisation’s country director Sven Coppens.

Plan International, which is working in development and humanitarian sector in Nepal since 1978, also said it would continue to invest its resources in five strategic areas including childhood development, gender transformative and inclusive education, child protection mechanism, girls empowerment and disaster risk education, in remote areas of the country.
