Kalaiya, 11 March, 2015 :Â The final rites of Puja Sah, a rape victim who died during the treatment following the incident, will be performed only after the victim’s family receives compensation.
Pramod Gupta, Chairperson of ‘Beti Bachau (Save the Daughters)’ Struggle Committee, Kalaiya, has asserted that the final rites of the seven-year-old victim will not take place until her family receives the compensation.
Daughter of Badri Narayan Sah of Kalaiya-4, Puja, was raped by Kanhai Gupta, 28, from Kalaiya-6 at Motibag of the district on February 20. She was found lying unconscious on the spot where the incident had taken place.
The minor had breathed her last during her treatment at the Kanti Children’s Hospital in Kathmandu.
Demanding the compensation for the victim’s family, the Struggle Committee had recently launched a sit-in protest in front of the District Administration Office, Kalaiya, keeping the body in front of the District Administration Office.
