RSS Employees' Association Releases Muhan

Kathmandu, 26 Dec 2014: The Employees’ Association at the National News Agency (RSS) has published a book named Muhan (Source) on the occasion of its 25th establishment day.

RSS Chairman Kulchandra Wagle and General Manager Shreeram Singh Basnet jointly released the book amidst a function at the RSS central office, Kathmandu, on Friday.

The book dovetailed in 339 pages delves into different dimensions of media ranging from news agency journalism to new media and national politics, foreign affairs, religion and spiritualism, literature and natural disasters. There are a total of 72 write-ups by the RSS employees and experts from various sectors.

At the function, RSS Chairman Mr Wagle informed that the establishment of the RSS development fund was being implemented very soon.

The fund, the Chairman said, would be utilized for the capacity enhancement of the RSS employees, purchase of modern appliances, and renovation of office buildings. He added that the new publication from the RSS has not only explored talent of the RSS employees, but it would also help prosper the institution.

Association Chairman Rajaram Karki handed over Rs 5,000 to RSS Chairman for the fund.

Similarly, Chief Reporter Surya Chandra Basnet said the book would add further dimension to the RSS.

Member of the RSS Board of Directors, Santosh Neupane, said that the amendment of RSS bylaws with the participation of all employees was a democratic practice.

Executive editor of the book Shyam Rimal said the book was brought to give different tastes to the readers. It is a worth reading book, for it includes the issues from foreign affairs to spiritualism, he added.

Senior critics Dr Ram Dayal Rakesh and Ram Lohani lauded the publication which would serve the readers of different taste.

Also congratulating the Association for good work were Deputy General Manager of RSS, Nirmala Acharya, RSS Chapter Vice-Chair of FNJ, Narayan Prasad Ghimire, Central Member of FNJ, Pradip Neupane, and RSS Employees’ Organization’s Chair Prem Upadhayay. They said the book would help popularize the news agency.

The Association was established with the initiative of then RSS Editor Basu Rimal Yatri during the first people’s movement of 1990.
