Mahottari, March 26: Seven invigilators and 138 examinees were expelled Thursday, the seventh day of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations from various centers in Mahottari district.

An exam monitoring team from the District Education Office, Mahottari caught students cheating inside the exam hall while invigilators were punished for not performing their duty properly. Irregularities were noticed at Bakhari center, Mahendra Adarsha Women Higher Secondary School Jaleshwor and Ramgopalpur center, the DEO said.

Likewise, three photocopy shops near the exam centers were caught photocopying question papers and cheats red-handed. Their proprietors have been arrested and handed to the police, District Education Officer Arbindlal Karna said. DEO Karna himself reached these centers following alleged irregularities there since the beginning of the examinations.
