Birgunj (Parsa), 24 February : The indefinite strike and transportation halt in Bara district has been withdrawn since this morning. The district was tense for nine days with the government’s decision of extending the service centre from the district headquarters Kalaiya to Simara.
The strike and protest programmes have been withdrawn after an understanding was reached in the meeting of the local political parties and stakeholders.
The government had urged the protesting locals to resolve the problem through dialogue, said Bhola Adhikari, coordinator at the stakeholder committee.
With this decision, transportation service in the area has resumed and it has eased the life.
