World Peace Day Celebrated

Kathmandu, September 23, 2018: Rotaract Club of Patan has been working on different aspects of society since its establishment. RAC Patan continued their sixth time celebration of World Peace Day on September 21, 2018. The event was collaborated by a total of 46 clubs with 11 international clubs, 2 clubs outside rotaract and 33 inter district clubs. The event was themed “Together For Peace” for this year and took place in Patan Durbar Square which is one of the world heritage sites listed by UNESCO.

They released their yearly e-bulletin which consists of articles themed ‘Peace’ from different collaborating clubs so that there is an exchange of thoughts on the theme. It was released by the youth service director of Rotary Club of Patan Rtn. Shiba Bhakta Rajbhandari who appreciated the enthusiasm and dedication todays youth puts into minimizing the differences in the society. He said “You all are present here to spread the message of Peace inspite of your schedule and the rainy weather which shows your support and energy. We need you so that rotary movement has a greater impact on our society.”

The program was co-ordinated by club’s International Service Director Rtr. Kritika Sharma along with all the members of the ckub. The program smoothly run inspite of the drizzle. Diyos were lighted in the shape of peace, rotaract club logo and around the queen’s pond in Durbar Square area.  A total of 56 people including 16 members from the initiating club were present in the event. Rotaract club of Patan has been doing different events every year to spread a positive message of peace and harmony. The club has a vision of collaborating with more clubs to spread its message of peace as much as possible.
