Kathmandu, January 5, 2018: As many as thirteen teenagers from different parts of the country participated in NexTChange, a two-day (January 4 and 5) teenager based training program hosted by Glocal’s 20 under 20 in The Creative Square, Thapagaun, Kathmandu.
Three different sessions on Leadership, Team Building and Public Speaking/ Communication were held on the first day in which Asish Thakur, Executive Director, Glocal Pvt. Ltd, Alina Prajapati, General Manager, Glocal Pvt. Ltd. and Ajay Pandey, Manager- IT and Designs, Glocal Pvt. Ltd. took the role of trainer respectively.
Asish Thakur emphasized how a leadership skill helps an individual to influence the people and enforce their innovative ideas. Similarly, Alina Prajapati reflected the importance of working in a team. According to her, one should make sure that the work they are assigned to a team is done well, and if failed to do, there must be good communication to improvise the task. Ajay Pandey, in his Public Speaking/ Communication training, highlighted the importance of networking and fluent communication. He believes that one needs to become a fluent speaker and present oneself well to impact a large number of people.
Cajol Jha, PR Manager, Glocal Pvt. Ltd. gave the training on Personal and Professional Development today making her sessions one of the most engaging one. The teenagers actively and enthusiastically participated in all the sessions.
Glocal’s 20 under 20 along with the participants had a discussion to design follow-up activities. Bhabish Shrestha, one of Glocal’s 20 under 20 shared, “After all the training and sessions, we got to learn sets of skills. These skills are vital for the teenagers like us. But there are many teenagers in our place who are not getting any opportunities to explore the importance of leadership, teamwork etc. After we return to our places, we have formulated plans and working methodology to impart these skills to the teenagers there. “
Shyam Sundar Pandit, one of the participants, was overwhelmed to meet teenagers from different parts of the country who were doing amazing works in various fields. “This opportunity has turned out to become a fruitful one for me. After meeting amazing people and learning through experienced trainers, I have understood that the passion leads to a purpose,” opined Pandit.
The participants were facilitated by Glocal’s 20 under 20 throughout the program.
Glocal’s 20 under 20 is an informal group of 20 teenagers from diverse fields stepping out to create an impact in the society whose initiation and achievement has been recognized amidst Glocal Teen Hero on 1 September 2017.
