May 24, 2015: Nepal oil corporation (NOC) has increased the stock of petroleum products in major depots which is sufficient to meet the demand for another month-and-a-half.
Amlehganj depot has stock of 977 kilo litres of petrol and 10,417 kilolitres of diesel,ou of its total capacity to store 1,366 kilolitre of petrol and 15,o73 kilolitres of disesl, said Mukunda Ghimire, spokes person of NOC.
Similarly, NOC`s thankot depot, which caters to the need of kathmandu has stock of 1,706 kiloliteres of petrol and 8,183 liloliters of diesel. Thankot depot has the storage capacity of 1890 kiloliters of pertol and deisel respectively.
Among other parts of the country NOC has increased the stock of petroleum products in strategic places like Kathmandu valley in the aftermath of the disaster in bid to ensure smooth supply of fuel. NOC said that they will utilize the stock fuel only during critical time.
