Kathmandu,3 March 2015: Nepal Press Union (NPU), an umbrella organization of democratic journalists, is holding its central committee (CC) meeting in Gaighat of Udaypur on coming March 17. A meeting of NPU Central Secretariat here Tuesday agreed for the same.
Similarly, the meeting has decided to hold the national gathering of women journalists on coming April 10-11 in Lalitpur, according to Union General Secretary Ajaybabu Shiwakoti.
Besides, the meeting has agreed to organize special programmes March 4 and March 21 in commemoration of Nepali Congress founding member the late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and party former President the late Girija Prasad Koirala, respectively.
The Union has, expressing its concerns over the filing of public offense case against Nepalgunj-based journalists Kshetranath Devkota and Tilak Gaunle by the Banke police, has demanded a fair investigation into the case, disclosure of findings and action against the guilty.
