Kathmandu,5 September- The Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) has expressed its commitment to focus on the humanitarian service in the days ahead. Â On the occasion of its 52nd establishment day today, the humanitarian organization has expressed its commitment not to be diverted from its fundamental principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, independence, voluntarily service unity and universality.

The NRCS was established on 19th Bhadra 2020 BS. The NRCS now has extended its 1,440 sub-branches including 75 district branches across the country.
About 1.1 million volunteers are associated with the NRCS. The NRCS has run 19 eye hospitals, 101 blood transfusion centres, 173 ambulance services and some store houses for keeping emergency rescue equipments in some cities.
Similarly, the NRCS has launched various trainings and humanitarian services to the needy people across the country. Likewise, the volunteers are launching relief operations in the worst quake-hit districts after the ‘April 25 Gorkha Earthquake’.
The NRCS is marking its establishment day with the slogan of ‘Red Cross’s Principles in Practice’.
On the occasion, electronic version of “Story of My Red Cross” was released. Chief at the Delegation of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to Nepal Dragana Koach commented that the activities run by the NRCS were positive in the humanitarian sectors.
Similarly, Michel Higiston, representatives of International Federation of Red Cross to Nepal, said that the Federation would provide more financial support for the reconstruction of the quake-affected infrastructure in Nepal.
