Gulariya (Bardiya), Sept 25: The Bardiya National Park, Bardiya has seen an increment in the number of Royal Bengal Tigers lately.
According to Ashok Bhandari, Assistant Conservation Officer at the Bardiya National Park, the number of this species of big cat has reached 50 according to a recent count conducted by the park officials.
Earlier, there were 37 Royal Bengal Tigers in the Park.
The increment in the population of this endangered species of tigers is attributed to appropriate habitat, ample availability of food in the Park and zero poaching of the tigers, the park authority said.
